When a brand accepts you to a brief, you’ll get the news in three places:

1. In your Cohley account

The brief moves from your Applied briefs tab to your Active briefs tab, and you’ll see an “Accepted” badge on the brief card.

2. Via email

You’ll receive an email with the subject line “Congrats! You’ve been accepted to [BRAND]’s Brief.” This is a Brief Update email — it can’t be turned off because you need it to know it’s time to start.

3. An automated welcome message in the brief chat

You’ll see a system-generated message in the brief chat with your next steps, tailored to how you’ll receive the product:

  • If you’ll buy the product online, you’ll get instructions for that
  • If you’ll buy in store, you’ll get those steps instead
  • If the product is being shipped to you, you’ll get shipping details

What to do next

Once you’ve been accepted:

  • Review the full brief — deliverables, sample content, and non-negotiables
  • Note your deadlines — every brief has its own
  • Watch the brief chat — brands often follow up with additional notes, samples, or questions. Replying promptly keeps the collaboration moving.

Acceptance is a binding contract

When you’re accepted to a brief, you’ve entered a binding contract — both with Cohley and with the brand. By being accepted, you’ve agreed to:

  • Cohley’s Terms & Conditions (the version in effect at the moment of acceptance)
  • Any additional brand-specific terms included in the brief

Cohley records the agreement at the time of acceptance. Take a moment to review the brief in full before you start producing content — you’re now committed to delivering what was outlined.
