Your portfolio is the first thing a brand sees when they're reviewing creators who have applied to their brief. In your application message, you can add a link to a Canva portfolio as a bonus, but we recommend uploading content directly to the platform to guarantee that the brand will see it.

If you're applying to UGC or Influencer Partnership briefs, upload a mix of photos and videos with the primary focus being video

Remember, brands want to see the following video examples in your portfolio:

Testimonial: Directly speak to the camera about a product, with some b-roll footage of the product

Lifestyle: Video highlights how a product can enhance a user’s lifestyle or fit into their daily routine

Product usage: Visually demonstrate how to use the product, while highlighting key features and benefits

If the brief is asking for photos as the deliverable, here are some examples of the type of content that brands want to see:

Lifestyle: Model with the product in a way that feels natural and not staged

Product: Solely focus on the product with a clean background, no model required

Lastly, when it comes to evaluating your portfolio, here is what brands are considering:

Lighting: Is the lighting natural and bright?

Location: Is the background clutter free?

Quality: Is the video and audio clear, and is the camera stable?

Confidence: Does the creator sound confident in their voiceover?

PRO TIP: If you are new to UGC, create “test” videos so brands can see the type of content that you can produce
