Cohley pulls in two related but distinct things from your connected social accounts:

  • Social Profile — your authorized handles (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) pull in your last 10 posts (not stories).
  • Social Metrics — the audience data Cohley pulls in for each connected platform: followers, engagement rate, and demographics. This is what brands evaluate when deciding whether you’re a fit for an influencer brief.

You’ll find both in My Profile under their respective tabs.

Connect handle vs. provide access — what’s the difference?

When you add a social account, you can either:

  • Just enter your handle or URL — your account shows up as a link on your profile, but Cohley can’t pull in your audience metrics.
  • Provide access — Cohley connects directly to your account and pulls in your metrics every day. This is what brands need to consider you for influencer briefs.

Which option you’ll see depends on the creator type you selected when you joined Cohley:

  • Influencer (you said you’ll share content on your social platforms) — you’ll see the option to provide access on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. We strongly recommend giving access so brands can see your metrics.
  • Professional — a professional website is required (not Facebook, Canva, or Linktree). You can still add your social handles. If you want to apply to an Influencer Partnership brief, you’ll also see the option to provide access on those briefs.
  • Reviewer — you just need to enter at least one social URL or handle; no access required.

What metrics do brands see?

Once you’ve provided access on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, Cohley pulls and surfaces:

  • Followers (or subscribers on YouTube)
  • Trending engagement rate— calculated over the last 30 days
    • Formula: (likes + comments + shares) ÷ followers × 100
  • Audience demographics — gender, age range, top countries, and top cities (where available)
  • Average view duration — YouTube only

Brands use these to evaluate whether your audience and reach are a fit for their campaign. For more on how brands actually find you, see How do brands search and find me?

How often do my metrics update?

Cohley refreshes your social metrics daily — but only as long as you keep applying to briefs. There’s no manual refresh; it happens automatically in the background.

One note on Instagram

You don’t need to create a Facebook business page to connect Instagram anymore. The authorization flow is direct now — just follow the prompts when you click Provide access on Instagram.
