For Influencer briefs, once you’ve posted your content on social, you’ll send the post link back to Cohley so the brand can confirm the post and start pulling performance data.

⚠️ Before you post: The brand needs to actively request the post — this is a separate decision from approving your content in the review step. Wait for the “time to post” email before you publish.

How will I know it’s time to post?

Content approval and posting are two different gates for Influencer briefs:

  • First, the brand approves your content in the review step
  • Then, when the brand is ready to launch (often timed to a campaign or release date), they take a decisive action to request the post

When the brand requests the post, you’ll get a specific email from Cohley telling you it’s time to post. That’s your signal to publish on social.

Don’t post just because your content was approved — the brand may approve early but want you to hold posting for a specific date.

How to send your post link

The flow depends on the platform:

Instagram

  1. Open the brief and click Add link to your post
  2. Cohley shows you your last 12 reels/posts + all current stories (refreshed once per day)
  3. Pick the post you’re submitting
  4. If you just posted today and don’t see it yet, click Can’t find my post and paste the URL manually
  5. URL format: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Che44oPlSPl/ — remove any ? and everything after it

TikTok

  1. Wait for the “time to post” email from Cohley
  2. Open Cohley on your mobile device
  3. Click the link in the automated chat (the blue message in your brief chat) — this opens the TikTok app with a special branded-content URL that handles FTC tagging
  4. Agree to TikTok’s terms when prompted
  5. Select your video: create a new one, choose from your drafts, or link a video you’ve already posted

YouTube and other platforms

  1. Open the brief and click Add link to your post
  2. Paste the URL of your published post

Always use “Add link to your post” — not the chat

The post link needs to come in through the Add link to your post button so Cohley can confirm the post and report performance back to the brand. Pasting the URL into the brief chat won’t register it as your submission for most platforms.

One exception — Instagram: if you send an Instagram post URL in the brief chat, you’ll see a pop-up asking whether to register it as your deliverable post or an extra post. Pick whichever fits and it’ll be submitted properly. For all other platforms, always use the Add link to your post button directly.

Adding an extra post for cross-posting

On Influencer Partnership (IP) briefs, you can add extra posts beyond what the brief required — perfect if you want to cross-post on another social channel (e.g., the brief asked for a TikTok, but you also want to submit an Instagram Reel of the same content).

To add one:

  1. Add all your required deliverables first
  2. Use the Add extra post option on the brief
  3. Submit the link the same way you would for a regular deliverable

Adding an extra post is always optional—it’s never a required deliverable, and your brief is complete without it. When you do add one, performance tracking depends on the platform: Instagram extra posts are tracked only when posted from your authorized Instagram account, and TikTok extra posts are only tracked on TikTok briefs.

Troubleshooting

  • The Add link to post button isn’t doing anything when you click it → Your social account connection (Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube) has likely expired. Go to My Profile and re-authorize the affected account, then try again. Note: YouTube uses its own authorization flow, separate from Instagram and TikTok.
  • Your post isn’t showing up in the selector → The selector refreshes once per day. Use Can’t find my post and paste the URL manually.
  • The URL doesn’t seem to work → Strip everything after ? in the URL — Cohley needs the clean canonical link.
  • Post already added → A post can only be added to Cohley once. If you accidentally added it to the wrong brief, reach out to support@cohley.com and we can get it manually deleted so you can then add it to the correct brief.
