Cohley pulls in your social profile and metrics from your connected accounts so brands can see your audience and reach. Here’s how to connect a new account, update an existing one, and troubleshoot if something isn’t working.

Who needs to connect, and when?

Cohley supports three connected platforms: Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Whether you’ll see the connect option depends on your creator type:

  • Influencers and Professionals can authorize Cohley’s access to a platform when they want to apply to an Influencer Partnership (IP) brief on that platform. You’ll authorize per platform — for example, just YouTube if you only want YouTube IP briefs.
  • Reviewers don’t see the option to connect a social account on Cohley.

For more on what data Cohley pulls in once you’ve authorized, see Social Profile and Social Metrics.

Connecting an account for the first time

  1. Log in to Cohley and click My Profile in the top navigation
  2. Open the My Accounts section
  3. Find the platform you want to connect (Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube) and follow the prompts

A few platform-specific notes:

  • Instagram — you’ll be sent through Instagram’s login flow. You no longer need to create a Facebook business page first; the authorization is direct through Instagram. You’ll need an Instagram Business or Professional Account for the connection.
  • TikTok — you’ll be sent through TikTok’s authorization flow. Make sure you’re signed in to the right TikTok account in your browser before authorizing. For TikTok-specific troubleshooting (including the Analytics-on requirement), see Connecting to TikTok in Cohley.
  • YouTube — you’ll grant Cohley access through your Google account.

You can also be prompted to authorize a social account when you apply to a brief that requires it.

Updating an account (or switching to a different one)

If Cohley is already connected to your social account, you’ll see an Update button next to it.

Before clicking Update:

  1. Make sure you’re signed in to the correct account in the same browser (the one you want Cohley to use)
  2. On mobile, sign in via your browser, not via the app — Cohley needs the browser session to read the right account
  3. Click Update and follow the prompts

If you accidentally connected the wrong account, sign out of that account in your browser first, sign in to the correct one, and then click Update.

Heads up: each social account can only be connected to one Cohley Creator account. If the account you’re trying to use is already linked elsewhere, you’ll see an error.

Troubleshooting

The connection didn’t go through, or you’re seeing an error:

  • Sign in to the right account first in your browser before clicking Connect or Update
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies — old sessions are the #1 cause of failed connections
  • Disable browser blockers (pop-up blockers, cookie blockers, strict tracking protection)
  • For Instagram: confirm you’re using a Business or Professional account (not a personal account)
  • Try a different device if your current one keeps failing

The Add link to post button isn’t doing anything when you click it (in a brief):

Your social account connection has likely expired. Go back to My Profile → My Accounts and re-authorize the affected platform.

You got an email saying you need to re-authorize:

This is automatic when Cohley detects an expired session. Just follow the link in the email back to My Accounts to re-authorize.

Your follower count or engagement looks wrong:

Cohley refreshes your metrics daily as long as you keep applying to briefs.
