Wondering whether you can apply to a brief — especially if you’re based outside the US? Here’s how eligibility works, in one simple rule.

If you can see a brief, you can usually apply to it

Country targeting is applied first, so the briefs in your dashboard are already filtered to your location — you’ll only see ones open to creators where you are. For most briefs, that means if you can see it, you can apply. Some briefs also include a few quick qualifying questions first — we ask these when we need to confirm you’re a fit — so just answer them honestly and you’ll be able to continue. See Why am I being asked a question before I can see the brief? For where to look and how to apply, see Where do I find briefs open for applications? and How do I apply to a brief?

Creators based outside the US

Cohley works with creators in many countries. Because briefs are country-targeted, how many you see depends on how many brands are currently targeting your location. If you’re seeing few or no briefs, it usually just means brands aren’t targeting your country right now — it’s not a problem with your account. There’s no setting to change your country to unlock briefs aimed elsewhere; you’ll always see and apply to the ones targeted to where you are. Keep your profile complete and check back as new briefs launch.

Add your address when you apply

When you apply to a brief, you’ll add the address where any product should be shipped. Double-check it’s accurate and complete so your product reaches you without delays.

How you get paid

All Cohley payments are sent through PayPal, so you’ll want a PayPal account that can receive payments in your country. See Your PayPal account on Cohley to set it up.

I’m not seeing many briefs, or haven’t been accepted yet

This is normal, especially when you’re getting started — brands choose who to accept, and briefs targeted to your profile come and go as new campaigns launch. To improve your chances, keep your profile and portfolio complete and apply to briefs that genuinely fit you. Completing Surveys also help improve your chances of being discovered!
