Once Finn helps you find and download a track, here’s how to add it to your video. We’ll use CapCut on your phone as the example — most editors work the same way.
First, get your track from Finn
Ask Finn to find music and download the track you want — see How do I find music for my content? The track saves to your computer as an audio file (check your browser Downloads folder if you’re not sure where it landed).
Editing on your phone? Send the file to your device first. Finn is only available on desktop, so the track downloads to your computer — not to your phone. AirDrop it, email it to yourself, or drop it in a cloud drive, then save it to your phone so CapCut can see it.
Add it to your video in CapCut
- Open your project in CapCut and tap Audio in the bottom toolbar.
- Choose the option to add your own sound — CapCut lets you import an audio file from your device (look for something like “Your sounds,” an import/Files option, or “Extract audio.” The exact wording changes between app versions).
- Browse to the track you downloaded from Finn and select it to add it to your timeline.
- Drag the audio clip so it lines up with your video, and trim it to length if needed.
- Export your video — the music is baked into the exported file, so it’ll play wherever you post it.
Using a different editor?
The flow is the same in most editors (InShot, iMovie, Adobe Premiere Rush, and others): open your project, add or import an audio track from your device, drop it on the timeline, and export. Just import the file you downloaded from Finn.
Before you post
Check the brief first. If the brand specified music requirements — or asked you to use a particular sound on a social platform — the brief wins.
